Precision Tx™-Laser Facelift and Laser Necklift

The Precision Tx™-Laser in Grand Rapids

A smooth, firm neck and defined  jawline is the goal of many women and men.  For those who wish to smooth and tighten the face, neck and jawline without surgery, we offer Precision Tx (formerly known as Sidelaze) as a non-surgical laser alternative to a surgical facelift or necklift. Sometimes referred to as a laser facelift or laser necklift, the Precision Tx utilizes a small, side-firing laser to target specific areas of the neck and face directly and precisely by heating the tissue to help tighten the skin and enhance collagen stimulation.  Precision Tx may also be  used in combination with SmartLipo Triplex when removal of fatty tissue in the neck or under the chin is desired.  Although not offering the same results as a surgical facelift or necklift, the Precision Tx offers a nice alternative for those not ready for a surgical procedure.

How does the Precision Tx work?

Precision Tx  is performed as an outpatient procedure.   A very small cannula, about the size of a tip of a pen, is inserted to the dermal layer of the skin where laser energy is delivered to the lower area of the face and neck..  The heating causes the dermal and epidermal layers of skin to immediately tighten as well as the underlying tissue.  Additionally, new collagen develops over the next 3-6 months resulting in further improvement.  Treating the cheek area tightens the jowls and lifts the skin below, while treating the area below the jawline tightens the skin under the chin.

Who is a good candidate for Precision Tx?

Individuals with mild to moderate fatty skin laxity and loose skin in the lower face,  jowls and neck are the best candidates for Precision Tx.  Those who have a higher level of skin laxity are best treated with a surgical facelift or necklift.  Options for treatment may be discussed with Dr. Ringler during your personal, private consultation.  Those who are healthy and have realistic expectations about what Precision Tx can and cannot accomplish will be most satisfied with their results.

Is the procedure safe?

In the hands of qualified surgeon, Precision Tx is a safe, FDA approved procedure for use in the lower face and neck.  As with our Cellulaze laser, the Precision Tx unit contains a Thermaguide that ensures there is no overheating of the skin.

How long does the procedure take to perform?

The Precision Tx procedure typically takes about an hour, and may be performed in conjunction with SmartLipo Triplex of the neck area.

Is the Precision Tx procedure uncomfortable?

A local anesthesia  is used to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.

How long is recovery from the procedure, is there any scaring?

Precision Tx is a considered a minimally invasive procedure.  The three tiny incision areas are near the ears and under the chin, heal very completely with minimal to no scaring. Recovery is much quicker than with a traditional facelift or necklift. There will be some swelling and a little soreness.   A facial compression garment needs to be worn continuously for the first 48 hours following the procedure.  Most patients are able to return to their normal activities in a day or two.

How many Precision Tx treatments are necessary to realize desired results?

Precision Tx is a one time treatment.  Some results are visible immediately following the treatment, with full results being realized after 3-6 months as new collagen develops.
