Years of furrowing your brows, raising them in surprise or simply time and gravity often have a negative effect on the forehead. An endoscopic brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a common procedure in our Grand Rapids Plastic Surgery office. This procedure minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose.
The endoscopic brow lift repositions a low or sagging brow, improves expression lines and helps correct the look of a hooded brow. Several short incisions of 1 cm are hidden within the scalp through which an endoscope – a special surgical instrument – is used to release and reposition your eyebrows back up to a normal proportional area on your forehead. Other techniques include making short incisions within the hairline at the temples or within the natural crease of the upper eyelid to improve the appearance of a hooded brow or frown lines.
Many people notice that they look aggravated or tired and want their face to more accurately reflect their disposition. Instead of constantly being asked whether you are tired or if something is wrong, many patients who have undergone this procedure get asked whether they are getting more rest or whether they have started a new health regimen.
